Hmm, I think tyres is one thing you don't skimp on, Would be wicked if they turned out to be any good.
I'l stick with a well known tyre for now.Be intresting to here about the quality mind
Good find.
I pay naff all for my Kumho KU31's and they appear to be significantly better than tyres that are double/triple the price.... Good ole Koreans
Nankang tyres are **** and I know this as they're described as Differs Choice due to their lack of grip. I have 4 of these on my BMW and it handles like a drunken pig on ice because of it, and the missus has a set on her Corolla which is nice as I can get it into a 4 wheel drift on round abouts. But for anyone that wants a decent tyres, I'd leave the Nankangs to the AE86 boys.

So thats the end of that chapter  ,
So what are these "Kumho KU31's" like, I've google'd and read they are good in the dry and better in the wet !!, I'm looking for a new set of four however I only drive when the sun has got his hat on,
Any ideas,
Used to have a set of Toyo Proxes TR-1's but I found the car was skittish under hard breaking and got scared lol,
edit: To be fair I did only do a few miles from brand new.
Well unless you wanna go sideways on every corner. lol
Can I suggest Semprets? I dont know the actual trye brand but they're split grooved and directional. I had a set of 16s on my Nova and it cornered like none other, then I fitted Michelin Piolets and they were crap compaired to them. iirc they were pretty cheap as well.

My nankangs were fine. OK not amazing, but its not like they slid every time you braked hard.... They even lasted for a donny trackday.
And as Stu said, Kumho ku31's are proper bo, and in 195/50 cost like 29 lol (cheaper than nankangs), but they are far superior to nankangs.
Dont write things off just because they are cheap.
I'll be definently trying those 888s.
EDIT-195/50s are £42 a corner, barg...

I would recommend Marangoni Zeta Lineas.
Used to be called Something Stunners. The hillclimb boys are raving about them cause they are sticky as fcuk. However, dont expect them to last long as the tyre compound is quite soft apparently (which isnt a problem for a hillclimb car which does about 100 miles/year)
Mate of mine had some put on a boggy standard Corsa C (1.2 non twinport) and my god it sticks.

KU31's are awesome value.. On par with some of the very best and at a fraction of the cost!
I used to ALWAYS run Ecsta Supras before the KU-31 came out..
