hi carnt get 1st & 2nd gear, instead keep getting 3rd &4th. nova has the 2ltr 8 valve in with f16 box. how easy is it to adjust the linkage/ clutch cable. any help would be great. getting p****d off with it.:mad:

linkage slipped by the sounds of it, fairly easy to do. if you have a haynes, dig it out, its all explained in there, otherwise, you need to get under the car (presuming you have a standard nova shifter) and adjust from there

Yeah its got the standard linkage will try adjusting it to the haynes cheers.

stick a 5.5mm? drill bit in the box (as shown by haynes manual) , slide the linkage over so that it goes in firther and locks the gear selctor, get a mate to hold the stick by the reverse canal then do the bolt up. best way, dont know if the haynes tells you to do it like that lol.
