engine codes

Hi all i bought a 1.2 carb engine off of ebay and im not sure what the engine code is. Im not sure if it is from a mk1 or mk2. Can some one help please. Im swaping the engine with my 1.2 spi one i have in my car at the moment. I saw a thread the other day that i need to change the fuel pumps over aswell. Will i need to change the ecu or loom? Also i tryed to fit my air box from the spi engine and it didnt fit. What one do i need? Thanks dave

Why are you changing the engines? what year is it?

because i have read that the spi isnt very good. My spi is a 1992.

the 1.2 carb engine is a 12st. to be honest your gonna notice no difference between that and your spi. alot of hassle for no gain

O. Ok well thanks for the help. Might look into gettin a 1.6 then

id fit the 1.6 16v tigra engine then you wont be dissapointed.
