bonnet vent

What is the best way to attach a celica gt4 bonnet vent to my Nova .will it be ok if the hole is cut and the vent stuck in and smoothed into the bonnet??
Also this vent has quite a large opening which will be directly over my carb, will this matter if the rain gets in

One of my pals put a GT4 vent into his bonnet, looked the bollox, especially with the silver K&N sitting right bellow it. It run fine, didnt seem 2 have any problems with it. I say do it! Looks cool as fuk!
