View Full Version : Who uses 195/50/15 tyres????

Do they rub on the arches at any time? Lowered around 60mm.

Need a new set of tyres and cant see the point of spending a tenner more per tyre just to get 195/45s.
So im going go for 195/50s, but need to make sure they wont rub anywhere before i buy them.
Front wings are rolled, rear arches are cut back SLIGHTLY.

Either going for-
*Proxy T1R's
*Kumho ku31s(have these atm, good tyre but on the wear limits already, they've been fitted 3months...... :wtf: )
*Or Parada Spec 2's

full lock on the front inner wing bit thingy majigy but hammer sorts it.

i do but my arches more more Superior to yours, lowered about 100mm, i did have some scrubage, last week tho lol

Tyres dont last me long anyway, so theres no point to get 195/45s....

idea, the larger the tyre, the more air in the tyre, air is lighter lol

195/50's on cesaros don't rub! not sure about 60mm though. But sure its the same diameters as speedlines with 195/45s?

50's look good too imo.

45s look better, but im not really that arsed with looks on it at the minute.

mine did not rub with 50's on but the rear archs have been trimed

the toyo t1r are very good i have them fitted to my vectra and they grip and wear well and a mate has the Parada Spec 2's and said the side wall is a lot bigger as they catch and his old toyos did not

I had cesaros with 195/50 mohawks on my nova with standard arches. Lots of clearance.

My mate 195/50s and they rubbed all the time, probably be ok with cut back arches

i once had a set of 195/50's that rubbed on outer arches, with a 40mm drop. The 45's on my old blue nova never rubbed once.

I run 195/50R15 but all my arches are trimed right back.

Sounds like i'll need trim the rear arches back a bit more then.

yup or go for 185/55/15s? probably more expensive though

Yup, destroyed them lol lol
There right on there wear limits now.
And just found the invoice for them, i received them 1st Sept this year lol lol

They havent seen a load of use tbh, well, 3sessions at Eurofest, about 2-3k road use(some of which was quite hard,Lol), and then Donny last weekend which to be fair was about 5/6 half hour sessions.....
Even on the limits they gripped like fook in the dry.

So i'll probably go with them again, albeit in /50 size.
