View Full Version : bleed nipple
I put on some new discs and callipers last night and bled the system. When tightening the bleed nipple for the last time it snapped off. It is sealed but i will no be able to bleed the system again. Do i need a whole new calliper or can i just replace the nipple in some way. (and how would i get a sheered one out)

what calipers are they?
were they expensive????
any machining place should be able to remove the broken part of the bleed nipple, if you dont wana risk damging the caliper, or to save you buying a new caliper!

Try a stud extractor
Matt :)
astra gte callipers.
I hate stud extractors, can't get the bastards to work.
Can you buy just that part of the caliper seperately?

i dont think anywhere will sell you just that part of the caliper, cos the chances of them selling the other part are non-existent.
if you're really struglin, try a machinin place, if no joy it'll prob have to be another caliper!
soak the bleed nipple in wd40 well in advance of removin it, they can be bast*rds sumtimes.

I have had this problem too.
What i did was, i welded a small bolt to the nipple. Then I just uncrewed it with a 10mm spanner. Got another one from the crappy. Job done!

you could drill it and and then retap it. I used a stud extractor work a treat.
Matt :)
you can drill it out but you would need to take the piston out of it after to get all the bits of metal out!

use a stud extractor! being a bleed nipple it should have a hole through it already!!!
