Hi i passed my test on Monday and i want a nova
so i just looked at a quote for a standard 1.3sr and its £3000 with 800 excess fee
as i am 18 i expect insurance in Bradford to be high but is this wrong or should it be about that ?
this was just a quik confused.com quote

...and the SR is the "sporty" option, so more attractive.

Try a 1.0, or if insurance really is an issue for you, get something small and ratty until you get that first years NCB - thats what everyone my age did, first cars were always the cheap turds (Ok, that does kinda include Novas lol) to get that 1 year NCB.

Quinn may be your best bet (good for new drivers). Unfortunately (as far as car insurance goes) it doesn't get much worse than Bradford.

Nope, Bradford is absolute barsteward to insure a car.

I'm paying a shade under 2 grand TPFT for mine mainly because of the BD bit of my postcode.

Mate has his Puggy insured for 1700 fully comp because of the Leeds postcode he lives in.

But you live in cornwall, making your post irrelevant.

The place is so layed back they probably never learnt how to nick a Nova.

Its on the primary school cylabus in Bradford. Got a level 5 at SATs in year 6:thumb:

three times what i pay for my golf gti...

but keeping on subject, i always thought the SR's wernt too bad on insurance, only being in group 5 iirc. i remember getting a quote when i was 17 that it was cheaper for me and my dad to insure a 1.3sr than a 1.0 2 door saloon, strange...

I have to agree with the above. My first car at 18 was a SRi, and it worked out cheaper for insurance on that than on a 1.0 spin. :)

I cant wait to get to Uni next year just for a much nicer post code to slap on the quote.

Just had a check and the postcode I will be at uni with is the lowest insurance risk you can get :D

yeah i was forking out just under 1500 a year for my 1.3 sr.. about a month after insuring it police pulled me over said my insurance wasnt showing up on the data base so i contacted the insurance which was the cheapest one on confused.com . they said they had stopped it because i didnt send them a letter about something.. so the same day i had to search for another insurance and the cheapest was 1900!! it had gone up 300 quid due to the credit crunch and what have you which is sh**e! if you check everyday the prices vary from lower to much higher which is gay!
