Are the Diesel Nova vans either a 1.5 or 1.7 diesel?


are they turbo or non turbo?

found one advertised locally as a 1.4 so am not sure...

they are 1.5 and came in both turbo and non turbo

can the 1.5 TD be transplanted easily into a diesel corsa b?

Corsas came with the same engine i belive.

Edit: If its not a diesel already it may need differant mounts

Corsas are pretty much the same, though the inlet & pipework is different.

so is it going to be a lot of work taking the corsa engine out and just dropping the turbod one in?

Nah, it should be straightforward. Just more air pipes etc for the boost route.

Get a good crane, those engines are fooken heavy!

I think a few of them must have been converted to turbo diesel though as i definatly saw a few around before i bought mine (mine's a 1.5td).
If this one says it's a 1.4 then maybe it's an upgraded petrol?
If it is petrol then it'll be harder to fit a turbo diesel into it as i think you need a chassie member from a diesel one don't you baxter?

yer the o/s chassis leg engine mount position is different on the diesel

novas came fitted with 1.5 n/a and 1.5 td engines and same with corsa's however some corsa combos came fitted with the 1.7 n/a diesel and some base model corsa's too. ive got a nova van fitted with a 1.7 td engine out a mk3 cavalier and it went stright in. i believe the petrol engine mounts are different.

/\ as above post some vans came with the 1.5 Turbo derv as i knew of two people who drove them and they certainley wernt converted.
