Injection Tank on carb engine

i was just wondering if i can run a carb engine on an injection tank.any ideas guys

Is it a SPI tank or a MPI tank, I think it's a definate no no on a MPI tank.

I'm not familar with the requirements of carbs but you may need to blank the return line and the carbon canistor vent line too, otherwise its just a metal container for the petrol :)

You shouldn't run an injection pump on a carb motor and you shouldn't run an injection pump/engine on the carb lines as they are low pressure as opposed to high pressure.

Only a 1.0 lacks the return line, 1.2 upwards has a return.

Not really, I assume he is looking to salvage the tank to run an carb engine with standard fuel pump. The fuel pump will not be powerful enough to draw the fuel up out of a MPI tank as the tank output is about 6mm in diameter. Unsure about the output of a SPI tank where the pump is inside the tank.

If he is salvaging the tank to run with a carb motor then he shouldn't be using any pump made for an injection engine full stop, it's too high pressure.

Yeah, I'm refering to the mechanical pump running off the camshaft.

i ran a 1.3 sr engine with mechanical fuel pump from a spi fuel tank using the spi lines and everything, i removed the intank pump and made that pipe the return and made the original return into the feed to the engine worked a treat, no problems at all

it can be done.

if you had a tank with internal mpi pump you can get a regulator (pretty sure metro turbo one) which will drop the pressure down for carb use.
