Right just to help anyone else who has this problem and help me a bit.

I ahve a 1.2 the oil pressure light kept coming on when i went ound a right hand corner (others find it happens during acceleration) i replaced my 1 wire oil pressure switch with a 2 wire pressure sender and fitted a guage off an SR. the guage only goes above 1/4 for a split second every 10mins or so.

hence this bein an engine problem not a pressure sender/guage problem.

does anyone have any suggestions for my to fix my car or is it fcuked?

The engines knackered or its well low on oil. If the sender or wiring was buggered, the oil pressure needle would go right off the top of the guage.

my needle is at the top if the guage, where abouts is the sender located so i can change it with one off 1 of me spare motors to see if it fixes it?

cheers

The sender is at the bottom of the engine bay at the drivers side. If you crawl under the car behind the front wheel you can see the wire going into it.

It might be that the contacts just need cleaning or wiggling around (thats wot I did on my car.)

ive heard other folk say that it could just be the pump

the back plate of the pump detaches itself from the rest and the oil simply gets pumped around the sump

maybe a new oil pump would fix it?
