Get the fr panel off (chisel helps) then grind out the cross member.

I'd get it jacked up & remove the tie bar brackets.

Ah right i was just going to remove the bolts. would that be good enough?

So take the whole panel off then and put it togther off the car?

dan i will drop the welder around in a couple hours (if u read this before lol)

erm i take it you ignored what i said about cutting the panels off and used one of those actual drill bits. much prefer the spot weld cutter tbh much cleaner looking once all removed and doesnt look like a piece of cheese with loads of holes in lol. some of those holes you will have to weld up i reckon as u will need to make holes in the new panel to weld through/together and if theres a hole behind where your wanting to weld it wont work will it lol.

anyway

this should help

How much did the new member & fr panel cost in total mate?

A friend needs to do the same on a shell he bought.

it was bought ages and ages ago for the GTE mate. they only used a small section of it hence why the lower section has been used on the saloon

Just spotted this thread and thanks ck for the images, will help when I get my complete front panel off. Most of the spot welds are pretty easy to spot but its always good to have some reference! +rep :thumb:

Your inbox is full.

You said you have the measurements/ tolerances for a nova? Im hoping to get my front panel and crossmember welded on soon, have you got any measurements that may help?
