anyone here got the know how and pictures to make it worth making a article thread on how to do this conversion
as i know there a lot on here that advice doing this to 1.2ltr :thumb:
Its a piss of piss as long as the car is a carb and your fitting a carb 1.4, Ive done it myself. Only things that change much are the coil connections, throttle cable and not having manual choke, the rest is simple. Just get a 1.4 or 1.3 complete engine with box and away you go
umm its in the haynes manual.... just use the other engine on refitting.

Not unless you want a hernia! A crane would make it alot easier IMO.

unless you dropped it underneath and jacked the car up high.

that's how i got my brothers chiq engine out just undone the mounts and put a couple of tyres under the engine and then lifted the car up all pulled the engine out but i suppose putting a engine back in would be alot harder that way
You can fit/remove with a large trolley jack. Hire a hoist though IMO. 22 quid for 4 days here, that includes a quid either way for delivery and collection.
If you hire from a small independent place it shouldn't cost too much.

Managed mine single handed. Was only a 1.0 (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showpost.php?p=749392&postcount=110) though...

i will have a look into it as when i do it i will need it done fast as i dont have another car while the nova is beeing played around with
so all the plumbing and wiring is the same apart from the coil wire and the throttle linkage
aslo my main problem is i dont have a drive or garage so will be done on the road out side my house

using a big jack and a 6x3 to protect the underside of the car. engine and box out together. But engine hoist is far easier and will be out in 30 mins.
