Today my car started doing a strange thing. when you turn the ignition to the start position the wipers come on. so everytime you start the car you get a wipe from the wipers lol

seems a little strange as all i have done with the car is drive it recently!

Any ideas what this might be????

Must be mk1syndrome. I suggest you get a mk2!! lol

Is the switch faulty, or wires touching? Do the wipers work when the arm is flicked as normal?

The relay might be extra sensitive, and its reacting to a small surge when you flick the ignition on. Id change the relay before doing any other investigative work.

Make sure any earths are clean & a proper connection.

Any strange electrical gremlins that appear out of nowhere/overnight are earth related in my experience.

My mate had this on his 1ltr mk1 aswell, it was a earth problem iirc but not overly sure though, hth!
