hey folks, i have a k-reg luxe+ 1200 8v, spi i believe. could someone please inform me where the diagnostic port is? is it too early for an obd port? back in the day, what diag tools were used in vauxhall garages for fault codes etc? thanks in advance, joey

the ecu is accessed via the tech 1 system at vauxhall. It has the old 10 pin plug. Iirc the diagnostic port is on the bulkhead, next to the ron plug. It's pushed into a small bracket.

thanks mate, tell me, if i were to transplant a 1400 16v corsa sport engine with its loom, would this accomodate the newer obd diad port? thanks again.

The SPi loom doesnt have a seperate engine harness / car loom. You will need to rip the entire loom out and get a car loom from a carb or MPi Nova as well as fit the 1400's engine harness. The 1400's loom should have the tech2 plug on it.

agreed lee, the spi looms are fecking huge/useless! Fit a carb model loom, and splice the babyxe loom into it. yeah the obd2 port will be on the x14xe engine loom.

perhaps you could splice the engine loom into the original ?

Lol, have you ever seen an spi loom?

lol, its like a proper spaghetti incedent. Before splicing anything into it, you'd have to remove all the useless engine bits from it.

Ive tried this and failed miserably lol
