I have Mk1 Merit which has got a 100% rear seat (i.e. not split), and I have recently aquired a GSi rear seat with a 60/40 split in it. Currently I don't have all of the fixings in the middle to safely attach the seats to the car.... Can anyone give me some help on how I go about putting new brackets on for the rear seat?

Go to a scrappy, armed with a drill, a hammer, and a beefy screw driver.

Then just drill the spot welds out of the brackets, and prise them off using the screw driver and hammer.

Then weld 'em on...or get a garage to.
