Hi well in the middle of getting my old xe nova back but it seems to be running well under power. The chap i sold it to has put a power cap on it and this seems to have made it feel less on power, Any one know why this is?
Thanks karl.

Shouldnt be that... They're designed to improve airflow into the inlet. You sure it doesn't need a good service? Or has been driven hard?

think its something to do with the afm to be honest just taken a look ant it has tape around the plug. if that was not working properly then i guess this wouldnt help? it run a 16.1 at the pod witch is slow for an xe aint it?

power caps arent all that great, i prefer the sfi box , apparently sfi box gives it better torque ,

i thought it lost top end power when he fitted it.
Its not a bad deal im getting, I sold it to him for £750 with no mot or tax and the loom had set alight. He put a mot on it & tax re done all the loom, Fitted a power cap, two new wings a new set of coilovers and fitted a full install in the boot gonna give him £1000 for it so think i done ok :thumb:

if there's a prob with the afm, then it could be running lean or rich.

best get it on a gas analyser to get a rough idea. you can pick up a 2ndhand 1 for a few quid. i always keep a spare afm and ecu in my car lol

doesnt sound a bad deal at all... the power cap should improve top end...
