It will be a XEL.
Or one of the later 1600 16v's.
Post a pic of the engine bay

Depends what box it has fitted atm.
XEL is 100bhp, so a few hp off the older engines, but probably not really noticeable on the road.

will be an XEL in that...

'L' denotes low output lol although tbh there is hardly any difference in any of them

make sure you get ECU, transponder and key! :)

1. Would your 1.4 not have an F10 box? Has it been changed?

2. XEL engine will be a good base if you are going to change the inlet.

and was thinking of just getting some twin 40's and throwing standard inlet in the bin lol

But you then need a few hundred quid and mapping on a standalone ecu setup.

You'll have an f10 5spd. Only the 1.6 engines came with an f13.

MC - Mine (which is from a astra mk3 yes) had a F13. And from what i remember they all F13's

Sorry, I was assuming his engine was the original Nova item. Did the luxe have an F13? The 1.4 SR's (all the ones I've dissmantled) had F10's. Anyway, the assumption that 4spd = f10 and 5spd = F13 is wrong.

at 75mph i'm at 3000 rpm pretty much exactly if that would help decide what box it is lol
