Exhaust Notes

Havent seen this been done anywhere so its a bit of a long shot...

Maybe we could have this as a sticky if it turns out to be quite successfull.

As I will be commencing on my LET build soon I have been thinking about exhausts. After growing up, I now get irritated at rubbish sounding loud as fookery exhausts.

So I aks this like: For those of you with an XE or LET conversion: if you could be kind enough to do sound recordings of your exhausts and post up the file for reference (for anyone who is doing a XE & LET conversion). Come on its a great excuse to rev your engine :D

For those without an XE or LET, are still welcome to post up sound clips and info of their setup.

Hope people dont see this as a pain in the butt but lol this can be a good reference for everyone who is looking to buy something but doesnt know what it will be like. At least this will give decent idea of what is to be expected.

Engine
Induction kit (fitted or standard? If fitted, what brand?)
Exhaust Brand
Exhaust Setup (Manifold? How many silencers?, cat (if any)? & pipe diameter?)
Back Box tailpipe size

Standard XE Manifold with a 2 1/4" twin box system

20XE, magnex 4 into 1 manifold (2 1/4") bore with nova gsi magnex system (only 2" bore). Was running with a duf o2 sensor, it sounded a bit more raspy one fixed. out of car

Same car/manifold, but had a straight through 2 1/4" inch bore system, only a rear box. Was a bit too loud imo. in car

nova 1.3, longer manifold than standard (gte i think?) standard 1.3 'zorst to an Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0l V6 backbox. nice, loud, sounded great, but set far too many car alarms off, so i had to get rid :(

on the plus side, it did pass an mot with it, even tho the tailpipe didnt quite reach the outside of thr car

That shouldn't fail an MOT anyway. Mine is about 12" inboard of the rear bumper lol
