iv just adjusted clucth i.e unwound the screw bit on the cable for the bearing arm and now iv started it up and its revingits tits off what could be the problem iv checked the acclerator cable tried moving it about and it want move tried turning the dizzy but still no change help needed!!

you checked the choke? or maybe you dis-lodged the servo vacuum

well its got a auto choke and it seems to be stuck open and i dont think i have did take a look and it looks still in the same place no noise coming from it etc

prehaps its conicidence that the autochoke has failed at the same time... try turning it back to its "rest" position

almost certain to be a vacuum leak.

why would you suddenly start playing with the distributor?

pierburg 2e i take it, yeh try manually flicking the choke back like stuart said, might just be sticking, give it a drop of oil on the linkage if need be.

or like meritlover said, check u havent accident knocked a hose off something

i have to advance mine when its warm lol
have to retard it when cold lol

well i push the choke back by hand and its ok but i also have fiddled with the dizzy to get it running rite but when i turn the car off its like its tryin to stop but keeps firing up and dying what could be causing this
