might need to upgrade the servo its a gte servo and master cylinder at the mo and the brembos are 4 pot so pedal travels some distance before brake is active but when engaged stops well

and car has been bled fully several times

just want to no my options
for servo's

Its not the servo that is the problem, but the master cylinder. If it doesnt move enough fluid, you have to press harder/further on the pedal.

Trying to graft an Astra/Cav 22mm bore MC is what you want, std Nova is 20mm bore.

right master cylinder thanks for update
and yes you do have to press harder
so any upgrade options

Find an MC from a 2.0 Cav or Astra without ABS.

The main issue is to check the bolt spacing etc to make sure the new MC will fit to the Nova servo.

You can switch servo's & MC's together but dont expect it to bolt straight up to the pedall assembly or bulkhead, so more work is required sorting brackets & making sure pedal travel isnt interfered.

have you tried adjusting the pedal as i always do this with bigger brakes and it makes them fine

not yet m8 will give that ago first i think with the adjusting

its easy enough to do but do it half a turn at a time then take it down the road to try it because if you do it to far you brakes will end up sticking on lol

Not a bad suggestion tbh, but masks the problem a little.

depends on your outlook....
In discussion with Mr lightweight nips a while ago, he said that the pressure in the lines is key to stopping power, so you want a long stroke narrow bore M/C (so you can move the volume but keep the pressure). While its not very practical interms of seals etc, it does make sense.

Tbh my car is benefitting from the adj method running the Corsa MC (20mm) with Vectra 288's. However surely GM spec a 22.2mm MC on a Vectra for a reason?
Likewise the 22mm MC from an Astra GTE is specced to run the ATE 16v discs all round on a 1 tonne car.

If adjusting the pedal travel cures it then fairplay!

sweet 3/5 turns done it feels a lot better will give it a motorway run tonight
but the pedal travel has reduced and brake efficiency on rollers seem fine thanks for all advice to both craig green and burgo but burgo u the man lol it didn’t even cross my mind to adjust the pedal

thanks

brembo 4 pots, beasty brakes.
are they decent mate ? stop the car good and proper do they ?
what are they like for the wheels locking up and how smaller wheels can u get away with over the calipers ?

novaxe235 - keep givvin stu stick, he deserves it lol

15" like the v6 but clearance is less than 8mm because of the wheel style as wheel is rotated so weights are next to the calliper lets just say its tight
the brembo brakes are not that much better than the v6 my bro has v6 on his
and you cant tell the difference the only difference is that the brembo can lock up very easy
we both had test what brakes were better so both slammed brakes on at 40 both exactly the same (check a high speed brake test tonight)

15 inch .. damn. i was hoping you might be able to squeeze 13's over em cos they look fairly compact compaired to 2 litre brakes.

your brembo's must be better if they lock up easier id say. you just need to find that fine line when using em to get the most out of em without locking the wheels, will only come with practice ragging it really

What discs are you using, V6? Did you make caliper brackets up? Guessing you must have wheel spacers too or is the calipers themselves quite slim? I have brembo 4pots with large rotors and bells and they are awesome tbh! Rear discs lock before fronts but only when greasy etc.

Any better pics? Even some without the wheels?

cant upload any pics at the moment taking engine out tomara will take pics of all angles
the calipers holes lind up but used a 6mm spacer to centralize the disc i could have made the spacer lol all made by brembo they advised to put 17" alloys the disc im using is the v6 ones
and wheel spacer is 20mm need to widen the arches by about 8mm

i asked this question for my old brakes, had 1.6mm clearance, someone else told me they could only get a rizla paper inbetween theirs and it was ok, sure it be fine.

That looks to be similar clearance to my V6 calipers, possibly a little more on mine but not a lot. About the same distance my GT4 has between caliper and wheel spoke too lol

£3100 for an XE nova with spangly brakes though, good luck with that!

simple m8 on nova at back of brake pedal their is a 15mm nut crack that of
and slide the link clip and link out so brake rod is removed then rotate (part that clamps over pedal) anticlockwise to rise pedal and clockwise to dejust pedal as mainman burgo said rotate half turn at a time
