astra gte digital dash

right my mates selling an astra gte dash and a nova gsi spoiler for £20
obviously im gonna buy them lol but the dash dont have the transducer!!

is there any chance it will still work without this or will i have to buy a new one?

any help would be nice thanks

can use one from a 1200SPi apparantely, but never seen it done myself, the gte dash transuce MUST be the right code for the dash if you can source anoher one,.

there will be plenty fiats with the digital speed display and they look identical but i never wired one up.

dont bother looking on ebay they can go up to £50. just look around in scrappys is the best bet

I bought a 1.2 SPI transducer from the scrappy for £1 and it works fine with the digidash.

the brown and black route throught the bulkhead and connect to the digi dash were all the blacks and brown connect up:thumb:

lol well im guessing about £80 as on ebay there £50 starting lol

im defo buying it i have got him down to £15 for the spoiler and the dash now because i told him its no good without the transducer (A)

Its all one piece, it has a plug about four inches up the loom which obviously you unplug or chop off above the plug so you have the needed wiring, then its a black plastic thing that screws into the box and the speedo cable just screws into the top of it.

Its because the 1200 spi has a mechanical speedo drive but also needs the speed signal from the gearbox to ecu so it pulses exactly the same way as a normal transducer does and therefore works the digi dash.

Oh and for who said they rang vaux for a price on a new digi clock set iirc theyre about £500 + vat and im fairly sure my mate bought the last one available in the uk from wilson and co vauxhall in scunny:thumb:

i tried it today just connected a few wires and also the rev counter and it came on and tested itself seem to work fine anyways.. just need a back light bulb and a few instrument bulbs lol =]
