5.25" Door Speakers..

Bought some 5.25" Speakers for my doors, kind of without researching properly before lol

I have winding windows, MK2 cards (Mk2 Obv.) so just want to see where people have located their speakers, any problems they had, and any tips they can give me for fitting mine.

On my Nova, although its MK1, The last owner from many years ago, an old man, fitted 13cm speakers by cutting a hole in the door cards directly opposite the side of the rear backrest of the seat. I have winding windows and it clears it no problems. Not the best of positions but its one way of fitting them.

One popular method is using door pods at the bottom lower corner of the door closest to the footwell. Another method is in a similar position but higher up IIRC fitting it behind the door card directly to the door, kinda of a stealth fitment.

All I can recommend is to remove your door card take out one of your speakers and just place the speakers where you want them and see if it will clear the mechanism.

Mine are just under 5inch iirc. I had a look with my 5.25 speakers and they seemed to clear just.

Ah didnt think. Winders should give even more space.

nearer the bottom corner below the door closer strap thing is better. the easiest way is to take the door card off and then you can see where they will clear.
