XE conversion drivesafts

I know this has proberly been covered a million times but i'm a little confused. I have tried the search option but conuses me even more. lol

I ordered 2 new outer CV joints, just came to do them today and they have different amount of splines to the driveshaft.

I ordered gTE CV's.

My driveshaft has 28 splines on the outer and the new CV as 22 splines.
I can take them back but what CV's do i re order????????

I always thougt XE conversion shafts were from gTE's

Motor factors have supplied me with 22 spline outers for a nova gte

cant have. all the outer are 28 spline. the inners are all 28 spline unless they are the rare 22 spline gte/TD items.

bare in mind motor factors are ****tards!!

Yeah they are useless at the best of times.

I'll take them back tomorrow and re order some for another model.

22spline OUTER cv joints are what corsa's run

There either 22 or 28 (on the shaft inner end that is)

Adam is right.

You need mk2 Cav 1.6 inners, very very hard to find. The ones my place sells are wrong as are alot of them.

The cav cvs are big block gear box, but to a smal block shaft ie:

having consulted the haynes (which everyone should have) it seems opel gte driveshafts fro 1988 had 22 outers. however these are the only ones. all the others have 28 outers so order 1.2 outer cv's

and sloth no driveshafts have 20 splines!! look in your haynes :roll:

Why 1.2 outers? Are they 22?
