Hi, been meaning to get something up for ages now but really nothing really had progressed!

The car is 1992 Merit plus, 1.4i, 3 dr, which I bought in North London about 4 months ago and brought back to N Ireland. It's a 1 owner car with 28,000 and a Vauxhall history. Only phone pictures but I'll take some later today. The shell is near mint with only a little surface rust on the battery box bracket and a bubble on the bottom of a door, under the bonnet and boot floor are MINT with all seams perfect, I've a brand new door on the way from Steve with a few other nice bits.:thumb:

So the plan is to basic make a mint Nova, the car is going in for painting once I get the door home, with removal of the wings and painting under neath all arches and the under sides of the wing too, going to lower with the Courtnay Clubman suspension kit and fit these (once they have been fully restored). Heres bits I've aquired too.

Have both sides but they are for the earlier model, best I could get, locally.

Can you get new centre caps for them, had a link to vauxhall car parts for them but not listed any more.

Some surface rust ?

areofall
07-12-08, 05:18 PM
Just the fixing bracket has bubbled up, took the power washer and cleaned it all down, and the rear arches have each a 5mm rust spot on each side, this will get sorted once I get the new door home, the skin has bubbled on it two.

Jay

That is very clean, especially for a mk2 they usually rot like anything!

It's got 26 or 28,000, it belonged to a old dear and when she died her husband drove it for a while. It's got a Vauxhall history to 20k, but it's going in to my local dealer for it's next service tbh it's really sharp, it would eat the ass of my old GTE.

Nothing yet, all is at a stand still until I collect the door of Steve this month, though if I wasn't so lazy I should be stripping her:roll:

Thanks guys, it's very clean and original, the comment are really helpful as I've been considering selling her:cry: to fund a E30 M3, E36 M3 or C43 AMG.

Keep the Nova subtle but drop a 1.4 SRi engine in it or even better an old 1.3 SR with a cam and 40's :D

I had a drive in a E46 M3 the other day and have fallen in love but love the E30 M3, the Nova already owes me a fortune and I can have 300bhp for under £8-7k and if I sell the nova I could strech to a E30 M3 but I love my nova, what to do  Can't believe the price drop on cars for the same price I paid for my Type R civic last year I could have a 05 e36 M3

keep the nova, see you found a set of the wheels, good man. Cant wait to see her a tided up. Get a nova day out lol!

as much as everyone loves a nova, I wouldn't think twice about selling one for an e30 m3

areofall
03-01-09, 12:36 AM
Kind of Highjacking my own thread but I've always dreamed of owning a 325i Sport and never though I could even get near a M3.

chimp007_uk

a mate of mine owns a e36 328 sport, nice car.

The performance garage i worked in after uni had a e30 m3 alpina ;)

And then i saw that pic, sell the nova!

krobinson
04-01-09, 01:55 AM
The Nova's worth very little, and I cant see how selling it is going to do anything more than put a set of tyres on an E46 M3.

Keep the Nova and Get the BMW, there's no way that getting the BMW means the end of the Nova.
