hi all, i am going to be doing a trackday at oulton park on the 7th feburary and am wantin to start buying me supplies now, i was wondering if anyone had used these pads, CLICK HERE (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=270312004296), and if anyone one had what you thought of these. also is there anything else i need to look at to do to me car before the trackday? i have done plenty of motorsport before so will be doing a full prep on the car before i go but is there anything else i need to do?

I also wanted to start this thread to see if any of the lads from here would be interested in going as its really cheap for this trackday (the only reason im having a go!) £125! on a great track with open pit lane, hope some of you will do as it would be awesome to see some of you going round oulton!! HERE (http://www.focusedevents.com/car_event_list.asp)'s the website i have been looking at booking with. Hope some of you will come because id love to have a chat with you all about your cars set up for trackdays as its something id like to get into in the furure!!

cheers and hope to see some of you all out there!! please come!!!:):D

I had those pads but on a TD brake setup on my 1.2 nova. They were good from cold and better once warm. I doubt I ever got them really hot though.

imho Mintex 1144's are the nuts for most uses.. if you find they wear too fast then go for 1155's

Tried the above Mintex, and was never keen - had little confidence after a few 120mph-40mph braking within 100yards.

Ferredo DS2500s for me, done 10 trackdays in them now, within the past 8 months, never have an easy life, never feel spongey - awesome pad!

I'm currently on PFB 97's and my word they rock, but they arent cheap.... then again they seem to have lasted 3 times longer than my 1144's and were "only" double the cost

that trackday does look pretty cheap as does the one after it in march especially for open pit:eek:

Would love to come Ben but my car would be embarrasing right now.

Is very cheap track day though.

Just put 2.0 calipers on mine, Ferodo Premier Pads, actually really impressed so I can imaging those High Performance ones will be pretty good.

Mine haven't yet seemed to go off, but they are only working against a hamster in a wheel under the bonnet lol

Mintex M1144's/55's or Ferodo DS2500 are what I've used before and I now stick with the M1144's. I can't fault them on my lardy ar5ed Nova.
