hey guys
my friend has seen an old clio for sale for 100 quid

it has a small hole in the boot, and has been classed as a Cat A write off

i phoned up and he said i have to take it to some place to shown that the work has been.

just a few questions
could i just patch up the hole with some mesh and filler etc
or
just buy a new boot

also what is involved in taking it to this place and proving it has been repaired and does it cost at all??

any other advice would be very welcome

many thanks

plus it has mot till sept 09

Will need a VOSA check, £30ish iirc.

edit: might need a new logbook too.

Edit2: new boot, had you asked 3months ago i had a whole clio breaking.

Presuming its a Mk1 clio (pre 98) there worth fark all. But that would make it a cat C. Maybe it was stolen and or somthing else

Leave it, not even worth looking at. Mk1 clios are easy enough to pick up (I know ive had a few  )

yeah, To be honest mate.... a cat A would be a farking mess to be honest.

It's more than likly to be a cat c or maybe D even if its a CAT c i wouldnt touch it as there is no point and it will end up costing more to get back on the road. Oh and that MOT is now void.

As said, buy to break not to get back on the road.

I thought cat A were distroy only ie can't be broke, cat B was break only and C & D being damage repairable

Cat A iirc can be broken but no strucal parts can be sold.

That's my knowledge on the subject also.

No way can that car be a CAT A and still resemble a Clio lol

Cat D would be my guess. Ask the DVLA :thumb:
