I have been in touch today with Sky Insurance and unfortunatley I wasn't covered  No 20% discount :cry::cry:

So I thought I would start a list so others can find if they are blocked because of the area they live in, before they make the call.

If Ollie at Sky could maybe put up a monthly listing, as I was informed this does change monthly.

Thanks
David

Uncovered Area:
BD = Bradford

Hi,

we struggle with some of the North West of England postcodes but if the car is fairly standard we can use other underwriters.

BD (Bradford) is a notoriously difficult area for any insurer to offer cover in, as such it i competely excluded from our car club scheme.

Other areas excluded are:
Mancheter
Preston
Liverpool
Warrington
Oldham

As I say though, if the car is fairly standard we can use other underwriters but the above areas are excluded from our car club scheme.

The reasons for these exclusions are that our underwriters have suffered a bad claims/loss ratio in those areas so have excluded the postcodes.

It is painful for us somethimes when we have a customer who ticks all the right boxes (max NCB, car club member, car kept in garage etc) we have to say we cannot provide them with cover. We are restricted on this and our hands are tied.

Regards

Ollie

Sadly thou as this is a car club which the majority will have a modified car, living in areas of Yorkshire and Lancashire is now a downfall then:cry:

The list you have put up has just wiped out half the club lol

No matter what you do, you will never find a club scheme that works for everyone. Same goes for event locations. When your a national club, some people will get a better deal than others unfortunately.

Im confident that far more people will benefit from sky than they did from flux. And if you cant get cover through sky, theres plenty more companies out there to try.

Just to clarify, we can insure cars with minor mods in the restricted areas above.. by minor mods I mean, exhausts, lowered, induction kit, alloys, minor cosmetic mods. No turbo conversions, no engine swaps I'm afraid. A lot of specialist insurers have restrictions in these areas.

Absolutely Lee. I want to make it totally clear that we cannot insure every member out there and we cannot beat every price out there, if we could we would be the only insurer in the UK lol

What we can offer is way and above what most other insurers can, we understand modifications, you can contact me via the forum, we have car enthusiasts working here, we have a performance car we use for events/trackdays, we offer like for like replacement on mods and a general insurance question and answer service for club members :thumb:

Ollie, when you start your thread, if you could make a list of those postcodes not covered with a brief description as you have done above, id appreciate it :)

Do you cover for Northern Ireland, mine isn't up until September again, but it would be handy to have someone else to try!!!

Roll cage is no problem. The only modification we do not cover is NOS. :thumb:
