1st port of call is an inlet manifold to mate the carbs to your cyl head.

Either investigate something custom made or contact Bogg Bros & get a quote for one from them, maybe see how much they want to supply & fit (drive in/drive out) a conversion.

That will either spur you on or put you off entirely.

start with the carbs as the centres are all different between bikes, then a manifold to fit them, then fit, make a linkage, and set them up

R1 carbs may be a little over kill on a 1400. Would be more suitable if you had a hot cam and a 4 branch.

Im looking at 600s for my 1.2 at the moment.

Performance increase. Sound phenomenal (better than 40s imo). Really just another way of getting bucket loads of juice into the chambers :D
Tunable too. And can be a lot cheaper than 40s

ok sweet :)
are they easier to set up compared to the 40's?

bucket loads of juice into the chambers :D
Thing is you don't want too much though as you will end up washing all the bores. Not good!

R1's are not too big for a 1400 or a 1200, they must be jetted to suit the engine, they are easy to set up as are Webbers, if you have the right equipment, AFR controller and guage, timing light, jets etc, expect to pay around 350.00 for the bits and maybe a couple of hundred to get it fitted.
If you can fit it yourself then expect to pay a couple of hundred for rolling road time, or bring it to me:D
