hey, when putting an xe in a 1ltr nova do you have to change the offside engine mount?? i was told it had to be moved between 1-1.5'' down the chassis leg??? i have glanced at two different novas and i'm not sure....:)
just use a conversion mount , and a std engine mount from a ohc nova ,the 1.0 drivers mounts wont work ,
if you need a hand im only 5 min away come have a look at mine lol

'All the Nova mounting brackets will actually fit the 20XE engine and the F16/F20 gearbox. However, there are a few exceptions. The TD engine mounts are different because the lump is an isuzi made diesel, and the 1ltr front offside engine mount is different too'.:(
This is a quote from the xe guide that is confusing me... I already have the full engine mount kit from CA sports, but dont understand wether i have to move the actual bracket on the chassis leg,,,they look the same to me:confused:
side note, dont forget to run a NEW switched live wire from the IGN switch/fues box to the coil for the XE as the 1ltr ign wire has built in resistance to prevent the coil from frying at low engine speeds

as said above, you get the conversion kit & the engine mount off a 1.2/1.3/1.4/1.6 nova. basically remove the 1.0 engine & its mount & get rid. then fit the xe using the conversion plate & the replacement mount.
the actual engine mount bracket on the chassis does not need modding.

All petrol (1.0 to 1.6) nova CHASSIS engine mounts are the same (ie the bit of metal welded to the chassis). So when using a typical BRACKET engine mount conversion kit (1x engine bracket mount and 1 x rear gearbox mount spacer) there are no changes need to the CHASSIS mount.
THe CHASSIS mount can be moved 1 inch lower, which eleviates the need to change the BRACKET mount, (i beleive standard cavalier one can be used).
The only diffence to the CHASSIS engine mounts are on Diesel novas, which do require rewelding.
