Faded clear plastic

Its not for a Nova but wondering if anyone can help.

A lot of these modern cars have got clear plastic headlamp lenses, which seem to fade, discolour and tint yellow when subjected to the sun. Unlike the Nova which has proper man-ly, 'ard as nails glass headlamp lenses.

Is there anyway that this discolouraiton can be removed? Is it only the top layer of plastic that gets affected or is it the whole lot?

Im in the process of polishing waxing and doing some little details on the wifes Yaris and the headlamps make the car look like its got cattaracks (sp) :(

Nah theresa few ways to clean it up.

Any suggestions Benn? At the mo I only got access to T-Cut original, wax polish for solid paint and wax polish for mettalic paint.

Thats what I thought too mate, I really dislike the fact that they have gone that colour and really dont want to shell out cash on otherwise mint headlamp units.

You could try Megs scratch-x or Ag paint renovator, they are both nice and light cut.

Got a bottle of scratch X but not with me. Will give it a go when I have access to it. Hopefully it does the trick.

As for the yank solution will wait to see what the Megs does then maybe get some.
