As Donny is approaching I hadnt even considered the fact that my car may be too noisy for teh 98 db regs...

Anyone know how/where I can get a sound test done? Assuming they only do a static?

I aint paying £110 to be waved in on teh first lap!

Donington DO NOT do static, they only do dynamic, which means constant drivebys on every lap

As I've said to Oli, I am taking my airbox if anyone needs to use it, and a bolt exhaust silencer, but obviously only one of you can use it.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=226470just for reference, and my personal experience... I used this on my car, at 1 metre away @ 45degree angle, just as they do... it said my exhaust at 4500rpm was 99db, then 101db, then 96db lol, when in fact its constantly 89db at UK circuits, so a complete waste of £20, all in my opinion of course, and experience :)

they are quite lenient at donington. You will get blacked flagged if your over but they give you plenty of chances to sort it, they won't send you home.

They even told me once where the db meters are and if i eased off passed them i'd be fine, lol. My car turned out to be fine anyway.

Is it induction or exhaust noise your bothered about

flyby tests suck, I got kicked off after doing over 113db a few times. An that was before I fitted a screamer pipe lol

I got kicked of at Donnington Park.
Been there all day open pit lane then they decided i was too noisy!

Was advised it was more induction noise and straight cut box then exhaust noise.

Was told when you enter the start/finish straight go slightly wide & back of slightly until you have gone under the sound meter.
You can see the microphone hanging down.

Fancy sitting on the M4 whilst I nail it passed? lol

Its induction I am worried about really - last time a really friendly chap offered me his airbox! ;)
