Someone I know has offered to sell me his 2 door saloon 1 litre.
It's red with 63'000 on the clock, 5 months tax, but has just failed it's mot because of needing welding on:

(1) Just to the left of the passenger strut top (usual place) where wiring loom goes.

(2) Where the slam panel meets both sides of the wings has corroded. Possibly needs a new one!

Apart from that it's in good condition. All the boot is intact, sills also, the doors are all intact and battery tray is spotless.

Are there any other places I should be looking out for?

Really what I'm asking is how much should I offer him?

Cheers :D

Thought they would have the usual places Shaun. Wasn't sure if there would be rust and rot found in the extra nooks and crannys around the boot lol

On my way with the £50 offer now...

Good luck.

Just re-read that it's got 5 months tax, might have to add this to your offer.

2bh with the tax and the fact he will get £80 scrap, I would offer at least £100 lol

Check under the boot, round the sides and the sills at the front of the rear wheel arches. Saloons tend to rust there too
