stereo???

just put the face on the cdplayer that was in my pick up when i bought it and as soon as it goes over a certain volume,it gets really crackley and distorted??any help appreciated?

crap speakers or they have the pollarity wrong way round.

was doing it on the standard speakers.tried on some brand new 6'9s and still does it???

maybe the stereo outputs are blown so doing half what they should do.

ok seeing as you have a suitable answer,
highjacking thread as i dont wanna waste a new one

i used to have a stereo in me nova, some cheap CD thing lol

but when ever ui used to have it on and running etc the next day the battery would be uber low, as in the alt couldnt charge enough for the power being drained from the stereo. now i have removed it and the alt is fine etc. is this common on novas?
is there something i could do?

^^ Sounds like you had the headunit wired up wrong, constant feed and ignition feed round the wrong way.

Are you leaving the stereo turned on? lol

Mine are always wired on an independent power supply direct from the battery and I've never had problems with flat batteries.

my mate wired it up, he probably didnt know what he was doing back then. ill survive with my phone now, as i have installed a mk2 dash the cables wont stretch down :(

buy an extension iso lead if its too short, it sounds like the stereo may have been left on, i.e on standby mode.
]best bet is to always check which way round the perm live and ignition live are, i always have my stereo wired to the ignition, saves the worry then also
