ok my older Bro wants to get a new catr, he's quiet a fan of nova's so i naturally suggested a 20litre, or a 1.616valve on trottle bodies, or turbo, but he's also lookin at an RS turbo, sum GT turbos, an Astra mark 3 GSI (wich i like personally!) a ford puma and i think a civic VTI, he's got about ?5000 to spend maybe alittle over, wotdya think, i reakon the mk3 astra, but id be interested to know wot u guys think, thanx .....tubs

for ?5k he could either buy a already PhAt nova or build one himself, if he wanted to.
i am however very fond of astra gsi's,esp that dark blue colour they did it in, all they need is slight smoke glass and big alloys and they look sweet.
id say get him interested in the nova idea though!
wish i had 5k to blow on my car!!!

If I had 5k These would be my top 5.
1. Nova!
2. Early Scooby 2.0
3. 106 GTi
4. Some kind of Caterham/Westy
5.Something Classic ie chrome and no roof, TR6?
Good selection there Chris, I'd pick more or less the same

I had a quick look the other day and you can pick up early 1.6 scooby's for under 2k. With 5k You'll get yourself a decent car with room for 4 more.
106 GTi is basically Saxo VTS wih a different face, but who'd want a Saxo?
4 & 5 just fill up my 'open top pleasures' with a 'fruity' exhaust note

The Civic VTEC looks plain and boring standard, but look mean with a set of big wheels and a suspension kit. The VTEC engine is mad and goes like fuck. They red line at 9000 rpm and take off at 6000, excellent fun to drive, you'll love the sound too. Good quality and won't go wrong. It's jap! Although I still love the old Nova though, I'm not sure if I would spend ?5k on one out right.
