Because petrol cars are less economical thus if its higher people get less miles and moan more... Like me lol

that statements a load of bollox, lol
remember that this country runs on diesel ;)
Cos the government are tight funks and want as much revenue from fuel tax as possible, more people have diesels these days so it makes sense for them to keep the diesel prices higher meaning more tax profits going their way!

aslong as it gets to 99p per ltr ill be happy :)
that means i would only cost £185 to fill my tank lol
Derv is cheaper to produce, compared to petrol. The price has been artificially inflated.
I thought it had been going down at the same rate? Local shell earlier had VPower at 97.9, unleaded at 90-ish (I think) and derv around 105, which is about the same difference as it was when derv was 130-odd
Jesus man thats real bad, as if it costs that much to brim it man!
I think mines about 50-60 squid to fill the cav and tbh i thought that was bad lol

be sound if trucks run on petrol lol
but they dont, cheaper diesel, cheap food, more offroading for me lol
Derv is in higher demand.... usual supply and demand trick, bump up the price of the more wanted items.

Don't be a fool, diesel isn't cool ;) ;) lol lol :D
Saw it in the paper the other day that a depot round my way had 640L of diesel stolen out of their hgv's tanks.
Wondering how the hell the people shifted that amount... Unless they came with a fuel tanker of there own lol
Fair bit of moneys worth there
^^ Baxter just filled his Truck up lol

am have missed something here,
why has diesel not dropped at the same rate as petrol ?
Because petrol is a by product created whilst making crued oil whereas diesel isnt :thumb:
Forgive me if i sound stupid but i thought it was the other way around and diesel is the by product created when refining petrol?

Reminds me of a guys sig I saw once, was along the lines of. 'Driving a diesel is like being gay, it's still wrong, just more accepted than it used to be' lmao
Spud, the Cav is looking awesome in that pic mate :thumb:
red diesel for tractors is about 40% of the cost of petrol................
vat is charged on fuel, so it should have come down about 2% since the start of the month, it hasn't.
the major fuel companies, bp & shell have been accused of keeping the price high, it may be true.
the biggest problem is the government. they know fully well that loads of people run their cars on red diesel, so they keep the tax on white diesel high to compensate. how do the government stop this problem? they go round to companies who buy both red & white diesel & dip the van tanks to try & catch them out... it is not very effective. the people who run their cars on red simply acquire the fuel, take it home & fill the car out of public gaze.
they usually try & catch farmers by dipping tanks at the cattle markets. again, not very effective. they would be better off randomly chasing reg numbers off the dvla database & turning up at peoples homes to check....
I ran two cars almost exclusively on red for a good 2.5 years with no issues. I'm sure the government are meant to be getting rid of it though? Bad news for the farmers if so.
LPG could be interesting though. That doesn't appear to have come down at the same rate as petrol/diesel - so when the government stick duty up to the full rate on it, it will be more expensive than 95, but a less efficient fuel.
Any gen on converting LPG tanks to hold additional 95? lol
The vat rate drop hasn't changed fuel prices as they stuck 2p a L on at the same time

I saw that coming a mile away lol
Freeze duty on gas for 5 years, which is just enough to ensure there are plenty of duel fuel cars on the road prime for taxation in half a decade.
Shrewed but effective. Pity they are nowhere near as shrewed at protecting our money as they are at prizing it out of our hands.
