View Full Version : 1.4 sr gone wrong

hi people havent been on for a while just got back on here!
well i was driving my sr down to my house the other day and it died on me after changing gear like there was no fuel or a spark
i admit the plugs are fooked so give them a quick clean to see if it made a difference which it did its running sort of agen but missing badly i have sparks that are bright and ive moved the dizzy about abit to try solve the missing problem but not much change any ideas from any one?

nope they were ok at the time i was fiddleing with it i.e very bright sparks

they were gunked up but i got them clean with sand paper and brake cleaner so they sparked enough to get it running

Yes mate but they wear internally aswell,buy some new ones,its one possibility ruled out then

yer me and jamied meetin up sunday and sortin stuff out as i really cant be bothered to get up at 4am and go a stand at a market in this weather lol

it decided to start up and run perfect today after leavin it a few days no problems at all as of yet that is touch wood lol
but cheers for the advice people

might have been damp showing up the age of the leads then, but, and I used to get this a lot, it could be the mechanical fuel pump starting to pack in, either from just being worn out or not getting enough lubrication.
