Hi,
I know where the wires go on the car, i did a 1.2 to a 1.6 conversion a month or 2 ago.
WIRING OFF THE MAIN ENGINE BAY LOOM CONNECTOR
----------------------------------------------------------------
BLACK = switched black / ignition take from old coil wire
GREEN = taco
BLUE / RED = fuel pump wire next to fuel pump relay, patch it to old wire
BLUE = Temperature Sensor
RED = live feed from battery
on the new wiring loom of the GSi, take the red wire from the multi plug and take it to the battery.
The green on mine i have left off as i cant get it going.
The blue-red i tacked on to the old fuel pump blue-red wire going to the fuel pump relay.
The blue wire, i took to the temperature sensor
This should get you going. Let me know by emailing thomas@namehog.net should youget major stuck as i am more than familiar with the engine now.
other things to take into consideration:
- Change the fuel tank to the GSi tank if you have one, its an easy job.
- Change the speedo cable for the GSi one
- Keep the old clutch cable.
- Use old drive shafts, should be 22 splines i think?
This should sort you out pretty much.

i chopped off all the old wires in the engine bay from the old ECU, i did it with caution though and snipped them one at a time.
I left teh old ECU under the dash though.
