problems starting, bettery?? help pleeeeeeese!

ok my car is in the gargage and off the road 4 various things, but i sumtimes for get to start it, and have to take out the battery and chagre it, but at the mometn ive just charged it and it doesnt work! all the elctrics seem to be workin, but it doesnt seem to have enough power, i turn the key and it just makes a 'ping' noise??!! any ideas? will i have to use jump leads???

sounds like flat battery.
do the interior lights go really dim after that ping noise??

not realy, they all seem to work, and ive had know problems with the engine, wot im thinkin is that prehaps id be better using jump leads, as they are more direct...........

use a voltmeter to test the voltage across the battery.
if it keeps goin flat, even after a journey,or the engine running for a while it might be the alternator not charging it properly.

the ping / click noise could be your starter motor, try bump starting the car, if that works then its most likely the above.
