View Full Version : cdti engine problems
Hi
I know its not a nova but i have an astra 1.9cdti 150bhp thats recently been going into limp mode for no reason at all.It had a new intercooler pipe fitted at the main dealer last week and they said they had reset the computer on it.Then today coming back from work the warning light came on and it goes into limp mode again..
Does anyone know anything about these engines as its getting on my nerves now.Cheers.

best bet is to get the fault codes read at a vauxhall garage but the egr and the flaps in the inlet manifold can get blocked but this can be checked on tec 2
Cheers, will take it to the dealer tomorrow and get them to check on the machine.
Not at work and still seeing these problems!!! lol
These engines are a nightmare for this, most of the time its boost problems where the thin plastic vaccum pipe rubs through. I dont know which engine it is in yours, but check down at the hoses that run under the battery tray(ive had them rub through on the battery tray) to sensors the other side of the battery. If theres no lines going that way, then check the lines that go down to the left hand side to a sensor down behind the bumper (2 lines, one runs to the actuator the other to high pressure fuel pump on the engine).
By reset the computer they probably mean clear the code, which doesnt solve anything. If they have replaced a boost hose then make sure thats tightly fitted.
Is it still under warranty? Your not local so safe to hope its not the one i worked on last week lol

it should be a Z19DTH if it the 150bhp
Dropped the useless piece of rubbish of today and in return got a 1ltr corsa:cry:.Told them to check those areas that were mentioned and hopefully will have it back by the end of the week.
Thanks again.:thumb:
