I have decided that its too much hastle to rebuild the engine in my Sport, so I am looking for someone to do it for me...

Can someone suggest someone who I can just drop my car to or better still have it collected, and get them to do the work for me...

I know a bloke that specialises in resoration work, mainly old VWs but he did a top job on my old mk1, also there is a classic cars restoration place near me (mostly vintage, but my boss speaks highly of them) im sure they collect too, you should see some of the things they have there amazing.

Edit thought it was bodywork you were after, my bad.

I have a 1.4 bottom end that needs rebuilding and then fitting. No bodywork.

just look in the yellow pages for an engine reconditioner that is a member of a recognised trade federation. they will rebore, check the crank & rebuild the engine with a guarantee.

West Side Motors in Bridgwater where I'm from. 01278 458783

Recognised engine rebuilder & re-manufacturer. He built my 8v bottom end before it was turbo'd, aswell as a mates XE that saw mucho abuse.

If you could remove the engine & reinstall it yourself, you would save a packet however.

Not bothered about cost within reason, anywhere that will do an exchange unit my standard 1.4 for a modified 1.4?
