cheers guys, im trying to get one of the mintest examples around and to be fair, there isnt that much wrong with it. just got to get a few electrics working (ie. heaters lol) and a few interior panels to make it spot on. the bodywork is immaculate tho, just had a full respray. and seen as itl only ever be driven on sunny days it should stay immaculate :)

ok does this seem like a stupid question, how do you get a jack under to change wheels, with out a ramp?

does look nice tho

iv got to slide a scissor jack underneath the car by the front wheel and jack it up enough to get my jack under the sill lol

you may think this is an inconvenience but most of my cars have been like this. my coupe is the same and so were the novas and the corsa.

its all fun tho

Nice headlamps :D

I quite like E30's tbh, which is a shame as round here they're a bit of a pikey icon.

lol, my mates old e30's were so low to jack them up we had to use a std scissor jack on the Towing eyes to give us enough clearance to get a jack under the sill hahaha

I'd love another E30 one day. Here's my old one:

http://www.phd707.com/stuff/bmw01.jpg

Joys of an automatic: right pedal to go, left pedal to stop. No wonder the americans love 'em lol

I had 4 E30s and all of them were scrap. Whoever designed then needed shot. The Sump used to get knocked to **** every week and they seemed to be designed to trap water and enduce self rot everywhere. Nice car, yes, visually but thats it. All else is rubish.

Bin it and buy another Nova please.

As much as I like Novas you could be talking about either car there!

Novas were never as bad as the Beemers were. Rear floors, boot pockets and wheel wells and the bottom of the windscreen.

That is bad ass
Only 2 things id change, the exhaust - id get a diesel style twin downpipe and the wheels - id polish the lips/dish and gun metal the centres

L33 LEG

thanks for the comments :)

ye the exhaust is a bit nasty looking, only thing id change about the wheels is diamond cutting them. but i love them as they are, and theyre pretty much mint condition.

dod, i agree with you. mine isnt rusty but i do call it a nova just cos its never going to perfect and has stupid similarities to a nova, for example the front quarter windows so you cant see a bloody thing out your mirrors in the rain lol

and yes its 60mm, to me it looks a lot lower than the pic you posted, and thats taking into account the deeper bumper iv got. its pretty much as low as my old white nova was on the front.

e30s arnt pikey at all around here. you only ever see asians drive them around, that could be said about all my cars tho.

and yes, that is my bm to the right, and to the left. i have a big addiction and its only going to get worse i fear.

lol

i dont understand how u can have it any lower. iv just driven it tonight and i can barely take it anywhere. even the sill is catching the road :| the only was to lower it more is to fit 17s

marc novataken
19-11-08, 01:17 AM
had black 17s on was a laugh tbh just runabout whil nova was off the road. although when i sold it the first thing new owner did was put 60mm springs on!!!!

L33 LEG

no im not a pimp lol

i was going to post up the same thing mazz. i still miss the old novas ALOT but it was time to move on and grow up and considering that was just 6 months ago i think i made the right choice.

anyway technical advice. driving the e30 last night, the shocks were knocking when i went over any sort of bump, stones Lol. it made the exact same noise to when i forgot to put bumpstops in my old nova. and thinking about it i cant remember seeing any on this suspension. so do you think that is the problem? bare in mind it didnt make the noise before i lowered it and again, it had no bumpstops then...

when i put some nova springs in the rear of mine it looked as low as that white one, looked stupid and broke tho i thought.

those e36s look very nice. all my cars have been low, im wanting to buy some coilovers for my coupe as its not low enough for me. if i didnt buy the purple one to sell on i would be making it look very nice and low, but its not worth it cos im meant to be becoming a car trader. however i keep getting attatched to my cars lol

ps. iv got vaders in my coupe :p

ck
19-11-08, 02:03 PM
vaders are awesome :D

funny thing with everyone of the e30's my mate louie had. none of them had rear springs lol and the fronts were pretty much non existent.

the e30 touring (white) had i think 2 coils in the front, and no rear springs with the bum pstops cut in half hahaha

L33 LEG
19-11-08, 02:06 PM
lol sounds very safe

my fronts have 5 coils and it literally cannot be any lower or else it would sit on the ground, i really need to take a pic of how low it is.

on another note, iv put some bumpstops in the front now to see if thatl solve the knocking problem. its raining tho so cant test it or esle my car will get wet lol :(

ck
19-11-08, 03:36 PM
lol cool. to put it into perspective on the red e30 and white e30 you have the rear wishbone bush (front arms) its almost like a ball protruding from the floor pan. they sit about an inch away from the ground lol

L33 LEG
19-11-08, 03:39 PM
lol thats just silly but is all good fun.

and yesterday i said i had to put a scissor jack under the car and then jack it high enough to fit my jack under it. well it must of settled more cos i cant even do that ha.

wish it wasnt raining cos i want to go to work in it tonight and test it out :(

bit of hassle in the name of style

at least you can jack it up tho lol

ok i just read your last post you cantr even slide a scissor jack under, now what you going to do, dig a pit? lol

L33 LEG
19-11-08, 03:48 PM
i can get the scissor under the rear of the car. its a bit of a mission but im used to this sort of thing by now so doesnt bother me. some of you may think its stupid but its not an everyday car and it only takes an extra minute to jack it up anyway :)

i used to drive up onto wooden blocks that had angles like ramps and were 4 inch thick this made jacking very easy.
