I need to send my logbook to the dvla to get my engine changed. Just wondering how many numbers long the engine number is and where to find it on the engine. Thanks.

Down the front side of the engine, on the gearbox mounting flange. Crude pic...lol

Bring up an old thread, can you see this number when the head an get box is on? My engine is 40 miles away and the chap cannot see the number cause the head is in the engine? Any other way to get the number
