hello
ok can anyone write me a list containing different 1.6 to 2.0 engines
and like the differences.
and the same for gear boxes. as when im reading WIP's or other projects and people are talking about c20's and xe's i dont know the difference and ditto with gear boxes.

also whats the biggest engine you can just "plug" straight into a nova. so basically take out engine and stick new one in, no other work?

many thanks
Martin

XE means twin cam 16V (typically)
most 8v's are referred to as 8v's but old Cav SRi 2.0 8v (130bhp) are known as the SEH. A 2.0 NE is almost the same but lower compression & with a cat etc (110bhp)

No engine conversions 'plug' straight in tbh. Nothing shares such simple wiring as the Nova GTE's etc, so you atleast have to swap over the wiring plugs & add another wire or 2, aswell as using the right fuel tank &/or pump.

The big blocks (1.8's & 2.0's) go in easily enough but still require cutting & welding aswell as special shafts & mounts & fiddling about with gear linkages.

For a full guide on all the engines, read up Total Vauxhall's guide in the rear of the mag every month.

A "redtop" is a c20xe 2l 16v
A c20LET is a 2l 16v with a turbo added.
