Just seen the add for tonights show and they are putting a scooby engine into a mk2 golf gti. hmm wonder if that works :wtf:

Yeah, saw that add too. For Jonny Vegas.

Didn't look like they were using the running gear from what I saw/made of it....

BIGS

no it didnt, well the car they got the engine from doubt they could of used the gear anyway. think i might watch it to see how they do it and to have a laugh

One thing I've noticed from watching these is, they miss out a lot of the finishing of the car. All the footage is really up to the point of the "Test Drive" then all of a sudden the car's finished with completed interior........hmmmmmmm

what did people think?

I thought it was alot better than I expected. Considering how they'd bodged a lot of the mechanics on previous cars it looks like they've done this one very well.

Just needs Loopy to ruin the styling and fit 30cm wheelspacers now!

i watched this last night, it werent to bad, but they had to use the scooby sub frame for the engine, as the golf one was wider, and the engine had to be mounted a different way, so they looped the front of the golf off, and welded the scooby one back on the front, which now it wont be a solid structure, it will be cut and welded, but on the test run it looked pretty good, although slap head didnt do alot, it was mainly the other guy that done it

The first episode he hadnt started on the bodywork so thats obviously whats to come later on.

I cant stand the look of it, then again I cant stand that tw@t johnny vegas either! IMO they should have kept it looking like a golf, maybe wider arches but that really does look awful!!

Impressive mechanicals, good skills.
Shame pretty much every car they do gets ruined by the body work.
Theres only a few cars they've made that i actually like the look of

Same old, as Adam says! JV wanted it to look like an original mk2 gti too! leepu is a knob if he thinks his 'designs' look good 99% of the time!
Someone at the VIC test centre gets a back hander too me thinks lol

So what do we have here, standard (although mutilated) panels with an impreza tailgate and tigra roof?

Looks like a half baked DeLorian!

So close and yet sooo far!

I wouldn't call it a ferrari replica.....
it looks like a good seventies kit car, but it was made out of a jap scrapper.....

until the jet1 replica, he hasn't made anything like a decent looking car
