does any one no how long the runners should be?? puttin bike carbs on a xe16

the lenght is often determined by the bends required to match the port centers to the TB centers, and how much clearence you are left with for trumpets and an air cleaner, the alternator and the heater matrix hoses.

this pretty much defines your lengths.

im on about the distance from the head to carbs?? just wondering how it will affect power

i heard the closer the carbs are to the engine the more torquer it is??

i know what your on about. and my response pretty much answers your question.
its not so important where the butterflies are, but more so for the position of the injectors. further away gives better mixing at higher revs, but will suffer fuel drop out and hard starting at low rpms/low gas speed. so yes, it does affect torque to an extent.


the problem with bike throttle bodies is that the butterflies and injector boss's are at a set distance as they are a combined unit.

you may want to add injector boss's to your manifold and run the bike injectors as staged units.
