got this little baby a few months a go.
only really started into it.
just a little project to keep me busy over the winter months..lol

she looked like this when i bought it

it looked solid when i bought it chum, but i hammered lots of holes in it, better finding them now rather than later..:confused:

sport is getting rebuilt next chum, so i am building this one so i have something to go to billing in next year..lollol

i will probably sell the sr once the sport is rebuilt..:thumb:

i have gone off powder coating chum, it chips to easily. will spray the suspension black just. might paint the arches tho..:)

planing on keeping the engine standard dj_wudgey..;)

yip thats what i am aiming for chum. wont be colour coding the mirrors and will be tryiny to get the original ocher yellow stripe for the bumpers and side mouldings..:thumb:

after grinding out all the isopon on the drivers q panel and finding it had been badly damaged at one time,i decided to fit a new quarter.. i have cut of the old panel, fitted the new panel up to check the gaps..........................

on the passanger side i put a thin layer of sealer round the arch then stone chip..
the stone chip is put on with an air stone chip gun..:D

chistmas over and back to work on my nova..:D
i am not back to my work till monday the 5th of jan, so hoping to get lots done this week to the nova...

the isopon work is all done on the drivers q panel. i first spot primed the repairs, let it dry,and reblocked the repairs. then i primed the whole q panel and sill..:)

got up this morning and jacked her up, seam sealered all the joints and then stone chipped the wheel arch...
next job is to paint the boot floor and put the interior back in..:D

still lots to do yet before it is painted chum, i have 2 doors a wing and a boot lid to get repaired up too, then i have to pull the engine out and paint the engine bay..:tard:
once that is done then i will take it into work for a respray..:D

havent been near the nova in the past few days.:cry:

but went out and bought this today tho..lol

1.3 block with new rings and bearings, big valve head, polished and ported with up rated valve springs and solid lifters.

wasnt really wanting to upgrade the engine, but it was to cheap to say no.lol

What astra engine did that carb come off? I thought they all had Pierburg 2E3's.

all the windows in a nova are put in with a rubber seal, not like modern cars witch are bonded..:wtf:

i just push the inside rubber over the lip with a scewdriver chum, starting at the top and work my way round. hope this helps...:thumb:

small up date, got the rest of the parts stripped off the engine bay and started buffing of the rust with a wire wheel on the grinder,hoping to get it into primmer at the weekend.

someone had covered all the joints with sealer at some time, it looked a mess, but keep the water out tho. some small rust round the legs, but i have seen worse. there was a hole in the battery box and a hole where the bonnet cable comes thew the bulk head.

Seam sealer is nasty stuff, traps water too. Hole should be there for the cable, be next the the throttle cable hole.

got the engine bay primed tonight, once it drys i will flat it smooth with 320 sand paper, seal up the joints with sealer and then reprime it all..:D

got the engine bay rubbed down and its last coat of primer put on, havent been able to get near it since fri night.:cry::cry:
to many homers on at the moment. was wanting to get the engine bay painted this saturday, but i dont think it will happen.:mad:

got some new brake calipers of e bay and an exhaust system of ian walker..

standard sr rims chum, i checked to make sure they were all the same width before i sent them of to be painted...
also went for standard fitted tyres.. 165/65/14 :)

it was a place in dundonald, the name has slipped my mind. will find out tho. £240 + vat to get them done. they done them 2 weeks ago, but i wasnt happy with the paint job and they had redo them again. :(

small update. radiator, front suspension and front brakes fitted.
still to make brake pipes, paint and fit front anti roll bar, fit the carb with the new k&n filter.. ( when faker brings it down for me. lol )
