The block, head are the same, but it depends on the engine with the inlet, dizzy/coil/cam, exhaust.

Remember mine is a 1.4 Astra engine, corsas, nova, astras all the same.

The pistons differ between c14se (mpi) and the other 1.4s. Iirc the se heads are different too.

Heads are definately different along with the inlet, ignition etc obviously, blocks are essentially the same bar slightly different pistons used in the C14SE (SRi) to increase the compression ratio a little IIRC.

i have had a few 1400 blocks as i keep blowing them up.

i found that all blocks were basically the same apart from the sri (se) which seemed a bit better.

1400se block with a 1300 sr and weber 40's went well for a 1400..

but it is mainly heads that makes the difference. i am now running a 1400 spi block and a 1400 spi head and it is pretty poor.
