Anyone ever used...

any game making software such as Dark Basic, 3d Game Maker and Blitz Basic?

I've been thinking about writing a small game for a laugh and used to dabble in basic game writing using Blitz Basic on my Amiga years ago but not too sure which program to go for.

I have a very basic understanding of basic programming but not on a PC. Wouldnt mind using a 3d program but happy to work in 2D if necessary.

Any one any experience.

And its not for commercial sale - more just to see if I can do it...

don't suppose you have a ps3? have a loot at 'little big planet' (i think thats the name!) seems likea really cool prospect, might buy it this week! theres lots of hype about it on the net

search the net for something like homemade xbox games,
there is a programme you can download i think where you make your own games for xbox live.
its called XNA

ok just read that link^^ and it explains everything to make basic games the programmes it says download i have downloaded befor, and they are free.
