Set about looking for a new car to replace the missus Astra.
Something fast, 4 doors, big boot. Easy.
Scouring ebay, autotrader, piston heads and such like. Fcuk it, lets get an Evo! Went over to The MLR looking at some for sale, looking around the site, and was more then alarmed with some results a "Site Search" returned!
I searched "stolen" in the general chat area (to kinda gauge how bad they are for theft, of which i know is obvoius anyway) the results that came back were, erm, more then alarming!!!
Out of 20 or so threads I read, one guy got knifed, another his parents got beat senseless for his car keys when he was out and another one was set on fire when an attempted theft went wrong, said flaming Evo torched the guys 205 GTi parked next to it, then rolled back into a brand new RS4 torching that!
So, fcuk getting an Evo lol Ill settle for a mid 90's 4x4 3 door Es'cos instead! Or get her a loon with an XE lol

^ im watchin a Salvage 106 GTi at a local auction ATM, Cat C damage (headlight shattered and bonnet dinked) airbags intact, 2 owners, driveaway as it is - £100 :thumb:
The search i dont returned 21 pages in the "general chat" area of MLR!! So, 25 threads per page! It was really worrying how many of cars were nicked from the midlands area too!
A lot of the replies to the threads, from other Evo owners, its amazing how many of them of have seen "odd" people eyeing up there car at all times of the day/night! Now, my missus has got 2 two kids, and aforemention unwanted attention is really something I dont want to bringing to my house TBH, not just for her saftey, but mine & the kids aswell really. So i think another choice of car and a Clifford BlackJax is a must TBH.

Just on the RSOC having a nosey, they have a sub forum dedicated to stolen cars :( good job theres only 5 threads in there over the last 3 months :D
how about a subtle vr6. my dad has one and there bullet proof, also makes such a fcuking good noise lol, pretty big inside aswell, but thereve often got naff seats, so id look at one with cream leather seats lol. can get about 27-30mpg on a good day, if you thrash them you get around 17
A mate of mine has a VR6 (his dads got an FQ340 Evo aswell lol, came 4th fastest car of the day at Jap Fest 08) i dont think that much to them compared to a Golf R32 which I was driving last week.
Im looking to spend anywhere between £8k upto £15k on car thats going to hold some of its value over a couple of years. Saying that, this is all 12/24months off yet as we've still gotta finish/sell my Nova,move house, build a new bigger garage/workshop lol to house new car in!

Felt sorry for that guy when I read the story on the MLR, even the RS4 belonged to him!

Mike I can get you a Focus RS with Graham Goode bits (unsure what) for 7 grand (probs less) needs a quarter fitting though lol (supplied) Perfect for the missus.
Focus RS 53 Plate with 36,000 miles.
Category D Damaged / Repairable.
Starts and drives. Rear quarter damaged only. Comes with all parts to repair.

It's at a Ford only breakers where I know the owner. The drivetrain/running gear etc have already been swapped from a straight FRS so just needs the quarter.
We think 7K is maybe a bit much, but IMO it's worth 6.

i know a lass with a evo some chavs followed her like 10 miles tried to block her in quite a few times but then got the shock off thier life. when a few off her work collegues got there and they were all aressted lol but this prooves you cant have sh*te anymoore in this country!!!!

yea shes a copper shed noticed them following her a while when she got near her house she noticed thy had followed her through the estate to her street. so she rand the pigs then but as she pulled back on to main roads which are county lanes near her house. they started weaving about trying to get infront and bock her in. but she was talking to the pigs on her hands free just kept them informed off where she was and what they were doing and just lead them to moore coppers on there way to her!!! she sold it though as she cba with it happening again which is a shame really!!

Yeah, but the R32 has about 60-80bhp more than the VR6 (if you're thinking Golf or Corrado) and as said, 4WD.

That's only because most of them never see the light of day, and half of them don't even run as they've been polished so much :thumb:
