ok, if ya don't know i'm driving around in a write off (cat c repaired), so i'm gonna split it next year, anyway, i wanna get a 2.0 16v, but i'm only gonna be 19 with 1years ncb next year, so i'm after names of companies who won't laugh when i ring em for a quote!, or is 19 too young to have valver power?? any advice welcome!
im 19 and i have one but with only 1yrs ncb your gunna struggle! if liverpool victoria wont take you i think you better get a gsi! peps like adrian flux wanted around ?2000 from what i can remember im paying ?680 with LV every thing declaired

I'm paying ?460 fully comp with LV at the mo, but you have to be 21 and a couple of years NCD.
When I was 19....I insured myself on a shitter (1st had a skoda estelle, a ?10 nova saloon, 1ltr polo, with CIS and was able to drive other cars with the owners permission TPF&T. I also payed for my old dear to be insured on the nova, and put it in her name.
Cost me a total of around ?750 - ?800 me thinks!
you dont have to be 21 coz im not and im insured with them! its only if the car is grp 18 or over! so put the 16v in a 1.2 shell!

i've had 1 crash that was my fault and 1 that wasn't, ive heard LV won't take you on if u've had a crash? this true?. Also, LV take the car as the original one don't they?? i.e you put a 2.0 in a 1.0 and they insure it as a modified 1.0, lol or something like that!!

i phoned up LV about putting a 1.4 in my 1.2i, they quoted me, with everything delcared and 1 Years NCB, ?680ish fully comp with ?450 excess, then i did it with the 1.4, it was summit like ?4 extra, If u put a bigger engine in the quote u for that size and just put on thier records that uve modified the engine. but u also have to tell the DVLA of cause!

I am with Liverpool Victoria too...
22 years old...
No NCB due to accident, my fault last year.
N reg Clio 1.2 - no mods.
With factory alarm...
Living in what is considered a reasonably high risk area.
Somewhere in the region of about 1100 a year...
once i have 1 year NCB it will be around 750 though... so not too bad.
I understood it as being that you ahd to be 19 to be insured by LV - and over 21 if your car was above a certain insurance group ?
But I could be wrong.

oh yeah - LV were fine about my accident too - it happened before i phoned them - told them all about it and they were fine... just added to the premium coz I had no NCB.
Not quite on the same scale as ste's accident - only 1300 quid was caused in mine when i drove very gently intot he back of a Reliant Robin at a junction and all the fibre glass cracked and splintered - had to be reshelled i think. lol :D Load of crap they are.
